Mid-day, broad daylight burglary and vandalism today, is too much for Trustee Billy Wheat. He's determined to catch the culprit(s) and see justice prevail. He suspects the perpetrator(s) are on-foot, trying to score cash to support a drug habit

A brazen burglary and vandalization of the 2nd Christian Church today at around 1pmCT, today, Monday, September 28, 2015, is the last straw for Trustee Bill Wheat. He's determined to catch the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

"And they did it in broad daylight," he said, noting that this is the fourth such crime in about a month.

Though the church is attended by primarily African-Americans, Wheat says he doesn't think race plays any role in it. "I think it has to do with a person or persons wanting to get money for drugs - or they're trying to get something to sell to get drugs," he said.

2001 Toyota drops off shoulder, travels over embankment, and overturns

Lebanon, KY (Mon 28 Sep 2015) - Tpr. John Boyd is investigating a collision that occurred today at 3:57pmET, on Loretto Road, 4 miles north of Lebanon. 16-year-old Bailey Johnson, of Lebanon, was operating a southbound 2001 Toyota on Loretto Road when he dropped off of the shoulder, traveled over an embankment and overturned. Johnson and a passenger, 15-year-old Conner Johnson, of Lebanon, were both belted and were taken to Springview Hospital for minor injuries. Tpr. Boyd was assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff's Department, Fire, EMS and Rescue

Larry Grooms, Taylor County, KY (1940-2015)

He professed faith in Christ in 1984 and was a member of Mannsville Christian Church. Larry served his country honorably in the National Guard. He was a retired salesman with Mannsville Sash and Door for 40 years. He was a native of Taylor County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Charles Grooms and Helen Cox Grooms. His wife of 49 years, Judy Bright Grooms, survives. He leaves four direct living descendants.

Columbia, KY - (Mon 28 Sep 2015 - For the first time in program history, the Lindsey Wilson College football team is the top team in the nation as the latest edition of the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll was released on Monday by the national office.

The undefeated Blue Raiders moved up one spot from No. 2 to No. 1 after receiving 338 total voting points and 12 first-place votes.

The Lindsey Wilson College "Blue Raider Travel Club" visited beautiful San Francisco, CA from September 21-26, 2015. Randy Burns, Director of Alumni Relations, led the group of 27 alumni and friends on the Club's 2015 trip. The group's visit to the Bay Area included tours of San Francisco, Alcatraz, Napa Valley and Sonoma wine country, Monterey Bay, Pebble Beach, Carmel by the Sea, Muir Woods, and Sausalito.

Elizabethtown, KY - (Sun 27 Sep 2015) - Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown worked a fatality accident just East of Elizabethtown on the Bluegrass Pkwy.

Sunday evening. On September 27, 2015 at approximately 6pmET. Joel Stegner (20) of Fort Thomas, KY, was traveling East on the Bluegrass Pkwy around the 8 mile marker in a 2006 Ford Focus. For unknown reasons, his vehicle left the North side of the roadway and traveled through the median and into the West bound lanes of the Pkwy.

Food and auction will raise funds for Living by Faith

All public campuses will waive application fees for qualifying students during Project Graduate Week, set 23 Sep-2 October 2015 To qualify, former students must have 30 or more credits toward an associate degree or 80 or more credit hours toward a bachelor's degree.

KY 289 in Marion Co. to be closed for about one week

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, District 3, Elizabethtown KY

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews will be performing bridge maintenance operations beginning today, Mon 28 Sep 2015, along KY 289 over Rolling Fork river near the New Market Community of Marion County. The bridge will be closed to traffic daily from approximately 9amET to 3pmET.

Depending on weather, these maintenance operations should be complete by the end of this week.

During closure, local traffic will need to access KY 289 on the south/west end via KY 412 and on the north/east end via US 68. KYTC Public Relations officials have been in contact with Marion County Emergency Management so that routes can be planned accordingly.
