LWC Football takes over No. 1 spot in NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll No. 1 in the Nation! - Blue Raiders reach the top of the rankings for the first time in program history Click on headline for complete story By Charles Balcom News from Lindsey Wilson College Columbia, KY - (Mon 28 Sep 2015 - For the first time in program history, the Lindsey Wilson College football team is the top team in the nation as the latest edition of the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll was released on Monday by the national office. The undefeated Blue Raiders moved up one spot from No. 2 to No. 1 after receiving 338 total voting points and 12 first-place votes. The move to the top of the rankings came after a bye week for Lindsey Wilson, but former No.1-ranked Morningside (Iowa) slipped three spots to No. 4 after suffering their first loss of the season on Thursday. After coming into 2015 with a No. 7 preseason ranking, the 3-0 Blue Raiders have climbed in each poll moving from No. 7 to No. 3, No. 3 to No. 2, and now from No. 2 to No.1. Behind Lindsey Wilson is Southern Oregon at No. 2 with 310 points and one first-place vote, and fellow Mid-South Conference West Division member Faulkner (AL) at No. 3 with 308 points and one first-place vote. Morningside garnered the final first-place vote in the No. 4 slot with 306 points. Carroll (MT) completes the top five with 300 points at No. 5. Fellow MSC West Division member Reinhardt (GA) comes in at No. 14 and is also undefeated on the year.
