Group wants early photo of Tebbs Bend Confederate Monument

By Cheryl Tillery

Could use your help in finding some old pictures of the Tebbs Bend Confederate Monument. I am the current president of the Tebbs Bend Battlefield Association. I am trying to find an old picture of the monument at the cemetery. A picture that shows the very top of the monument. Years ago the original top was lost and one of my goals is to replace it with a reasonable facsimile. My only problem is no one knows what it looked like.

In my research, I found that Adair County had a big hand in getting the monument and cemetery going. Would you know of anyone who might have an old picture of the monument that I might be able to use to get our new top? I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me with this project. My email address is cherylt@ttlv.net. I can also be reached at 606-303-2725.

Thank you!

- Cheryl Tillery, President, Tebbs Bend Battlefield Association
