COF says City Folks are just spoiled when it comes to noise

COF writes:
Jest caint quite figger out whut all the fuss is about.

Seems like you city folk are jest spoilt. Ya haint been rattled by din en clamor tills ya been awoken by the hey yous en howdys from birds of every tribe congregatin' in tha woods around the cabin. Then when the mornin' breeze comes slidin' up o'er the ridge the dry leaves begin their little twirly, wirly dance all with a slither en slather soundin' like a mariachi band without the brass.

Then Vickie the fox rouses from her den en gives out a couple o shrill barks (I think she's jest remindin' Gomer the groundhog then she en her kits now have squatters rights on thet condo). All thet commotion usually is enuf ta git the three German Shepherds out at tha barn ta start their Mornin' Canticle. Yessir, life en tha country shur nuff ain't no pickik either.

High o'er beautiful Downtown Knifley. Whar the only quiet comes around 2 when the sun warms the benches in front of Crossroads an a deep hush ensues as the hangers on "jest rest their eyes".

Bro. Dave Rosenbaum nominates Noise Posse Comitatus

Joe Pyles would lead elite force, composed of solid citizens, who, from their you, have been sworn enemies of vehicle noise. All remain Columbia citizens, except one, T.C. Coffey, who would be brought back from Lexington, KY

Dave Rosenbaum writes:
Been following the dust up over the noise problem as reported by CM, especially the noisy vehicles that are disturbing the tranquility of Columbia. Well, perhaps it is time for action. Judge Melton should empanel a Posse Comitatus to deal with this problem. I suggest that the Posse be headed by Joe Pyles and include Tony Loy and Richard Lee Walker. Also consider bringing back T.C. Coffey from Lexington. All these men are solid citizens who, from their youth, have been sworn enemies of vehicle noise. --Dave Rosenbaum
