The Green River Trio will give a free concert at 2pmCT Sunday, April 6, 2014, in W.W. Slider Humanities Center Recital Hall, 155 Blue Raider Drive, Columbia, KY. The Green River Trio includes LWC Professor of Music Robert Reynolds, piano; LWC Instructor of Music Wansoo Cho, violin; and Saulo DeAlmeida, cello. Reynolds is a 33-year veteran of the LWC faculty, where he teaches piano, music history, music theory and American music. He also performs in the region as a soloist and chamber musician. Reynolds earned a doctor of musical arts, in piano performance from UK. Reynolds' association with LWC began in spring 1966. While a sophomore music student at then-Campbellsville (KY) College, Reynolds performed as guest artist in the Lindsey Wilson Chapel Series. Cho earned a bachelor of music degree in violin performance from Kosin University (Busan, South Korea), where he was also concertmaster of the Kosin University Symphony Orchestra. He has earned two graduate degrees from Campbellsville (KY) University: a master of arts in music in viola/orchestral conducting, and a master of music in church music. Cho has also been the assistant conductor and principal viola player for the University of Louisville Symphony Orchestra. In 2010 he conducted the closing concert for the Kentucky Flute Festival. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, DeAlmeida started his musical journey at the age of 7 on piano and at 13 on cello. Eight years later, he was playing cello in the Brazil National Symphony Orchestra. DeAlmeida earned a master's degree in cello performance from Florida International University. In 2008, he was awarded a full scholarship to study jazz at the famed University of Louisville Jamey Aebersold Jazz Program, finishing a second master's degree in jazz bass in the spring of 2010. The Blue Raiders (20-17) outhit the Bearcats (27-13) 12-7 on the night. Andino recorded two RBI's and scored twice while Leonardo Ramirez went 2-for-2 with two RBI's and a run scored.
