CM is Thankful for Frost Flowers and Mr. Frostflower/Mr. Fudge

KY Color: How to Spot Frost Flowers, review of what they are
New Frostflower photos will be given photo priority today
Pen's find of a huge field of frostflowers at Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill on Sunday reminded us of the "inventor," of Frost Flowers - at least the man who really put them in the local psyche and who has written as much, perhaps, and has photographed as many, perhaps, as anyone, Mr. Kentucky Color, Billy Joe Fudge.

We'll be building an album of links to frostflowers today, in Today, THURSDAY with CM, November 28, 2013, in between posts of the ads which keeps us going, news, other photos, EVENTS, and Birthday - the little everyday chores done everyday, even on holidays.

Those readers who would like to share Thanksgiving Stories are welcome to submit today. We'll do our best to post everything which makes the cut, and we'll also be beginning our heavy Christmas coverage, with more on Christmas in Columbia, area Christmas Events also in Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, Russell and Taylor Counties, using any Contact/Submit button. Call 270-250-2730 if you need help.

And remember to have those smartphone camera ready for a quick draw and submissions to CM today! Photos of Thanksgiving food, family gatherings, and early Christmas decorations especially welcome today. - CM

Thanksgiving in Adair a century ago...some events of note...

There were sales, of a sort; maybe some businesses were open that Thanksgiving 100 years ago, but it's definitely a historical fact - for it was printed on the pages of the Adair County News - that there were sporting events, a basket singing, that Columbia Methodists packed their meeting house, and as many Beech Top school "pupils and patrons" as wanted to be entertained by Miss Julia Penick, were.
