136 Seniors fill out college applications

Today, over 136 Seniors filled out a college application (in addition to the applications that many of them had previously submitted). It was a highly successful day for our students at Adair County High School.

2013-11-20 - 100 block, S High Street, Columbia, KY - Photo CM iPhone photo. The view is changing rapidly as the deconstruction of the Alta Garnett House nears completion. Elements of the beloved old landmark being carefully removed for reuse in many ways. Begley Chapel, V.P. Henry Auditorium, the Lindsey Wilson Water Tower, the roof lines of the Adair Annex and the Columbia Baptist Church and the Historic Adair County Courthouse share domination of the skyline with the towering pines on the hill of Lindsey Wilson. Donnie Curry: Will always remember day JFK was assassinated

'When I got in sight of the base, the flag was at half mast and I knew it was true.' - DC

By Donald Curry

I was stationed in Munich, Germany with the 508th Military Police at the time and due to the time difference it was the next morning when I heard the news.

I was walking to the Post to go on duty, when I met an elderly German man, he crossed the street and there were tears in his eyes as he shook my hand and said "Kennedy, bang, bang, Texas, Kennedy bang, bang, Texas."

I asked him if he was telling me President Kennedy was killed in Texas and his answer was "yes, yes." When I got in sight of the base, the flag was at half mast and I knew it was true. - Donald Curry
