Fishing/Hunting: W Kentucky WMA closed due to storm Sections of West Kentucky Wildlife Management Area closed due to storm damage By Kentucky Fish & Wildlife FRANKFORT, KY - Portions of West Kentucky Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in McCracken County are temporarily closed due to storm damage. Affected areas include the transmission line corridor located in Tract 1A; and the section of transmission line in Tract 7A located south of KY 358. These areas will remain off-limits to the public while crews repair transmission towers damaged by Sunday's widespread storms. Visitors to the wildlife management area also should stay at least 100 yards away from the affected transmission lines until repairs are completed. Repairs are expected to take approximately a week. For updates on the closure or questions regarding deer stands left in the affected area, contact the West Kentucky WMA office at 270-488-3233. This story was posted on 2013-11-20 02:31:21
