Celeste fig tree thrived at Gadberry, KY; Brown Turkey fig did not Charles Marshburn writes: I am not a fig expert! I planted three fig trees - two small Brown Turkey fig trees and one larger Celeste. The Brown Turkey figs died the second year but the Celeste is thriving and has fruit on it this summer. I don't know if the Brown Turkey fig trees were too small or the Celeste, because of its size, thrived and bore fruit. I would bet the size helped get the Celeste through the winter.
