Injury collision results in vehicle landing nose down in creek

Columbia woman transported to Westlake Regional Hospital following a collision in the 100 block of Jamestown Street. Driver, male, 33, of other vehicle charged with Operating a vehicle on a suspended Operators License and Failure to Provide Insurance

Tuesday evening, September 3, 2013 at around 4pmCT, Columbia Police Department received a call from Adair County 911, for officers to respond to Jamestown Street on a reported two vehicle collision with injuries.



Preliminary investigation shows that Tabitha Cravens, 34 of Columbia was traveling south on Jamestown street and attempted a right hand turn into a local business.

Larry Curry, 33 of Columbia who was also traveling south on Jamestown street failed to bring his vehicle to a controlled stop, striking Cravens in rear end of vehicle. Cravens vehicle came to rest in a nearby branch.

Cravens was treated on scene by Adair County EMS and transported to Westlake Regional Hospital for further treatment.

Curry was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Operators License and Failure to Produce Insurance.

The collision was investigated by CPD Ofc. Drew Conn who was assisted by Ofc. Josh Brockman. - Ofc. Josh Brockman

Adair EMS and Columbia Police are on the scene now, as this earlier photo is posted. Please use extra caution if traveling in the area. We expect an update later this evening. - CM

This was the crash scene in the aftermath of a two vehicle injury collision after the KIA sedan driven by Tabitha Cravens, 34, was struck in the rear while attempting a right hand turn as she was headed south on Jamestown Street. Craves was treated on the scene by Adair County EMS and transported to Westlake Regional Hospital for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle, Larry Curry, 33, Columbia, KY, was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Operators License and Failure to produce insurance.The collision was investigated by CPD Ofc.
