(Dec. 28, 2012) - The Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) is informing 1,090 Medicaid clients by letter of a computer security breach that may have resulted in the unintentional release of information held by Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Services (HP ES), the vendor that manages Medicaid's information management system.

Marshall (Slim) Branham, Cumberland Co., KY (1937-2012)

He was a retired employee of the Cumberland Co. Fiscal Court retiring as road foreman, and was a member of the Marrowbone Fire Department. He was of the Methodist faith and had attended Marrowbone United Methodist Church and Highland Chapel United Methodist Church.

Two injured in single vehicle accident near Raywick, KY

COLUMBIA, KY - Trooper Morris Farris is investigating a collision that occurred at 2:20pmET 5 miles North of Raywick on St. Francis Road (KY 527). Anna Ellis, age 55 of Raywick, KY, was operating a 2001 Cavalier when she dropped off the shoulder of the roadway and overturned.

Ellis and a passenger in the vehicle, Michael Rogers, age 37 of Raywick were both wearing a seatbelt. Ellis and Rogers were treated and released from Springview Hospital, Lebanon, KY. Trooper Farris was assisted at the scene by Marion County EMS and Loretto Fire Department.

She was a life-long resident of Adair County, Kentucky. She was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a devout Christian from an early age. Her goal in life was to do for others. After the death of her mother, she raised her three younger brothers and little sister. When she had time, she l0ved gardening, crocheting and making quilts.

Herman Dale Statham, Casey Co., KY (1934-2012)

He was retired from the US Navy and a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Statham was a member of the Middleburg Masonic Lodge No. 594 and the Oleika Shriners.

Adopting a combination of cost savings measures and revenue enhancement approaches, the Adair County Hospital Board of Trustees took significant steps last night to stanch the cash bleeding and put the hospital on a break even or better footing.

The steps are not without some pain. A reduction in force will cost more than 10 and fewer than 20 jobs, according to Chairman Craig Pyles, who shepherded the stern measures through with a 5-0 vote at the trustees December 27, 2012 meeting. He said that for the moment, the hospital remains in survival mode. "We've got to do what we have to do, or no one will have jobs," but added a positive note, "We're going to get through this."
