Sugarfoot Farms Rescue: Sweet ending to lost dog story The ad read: "Lost - female Chocolate Lab. Was wearing red collar with rabies tag #4181. Please call 270-378-4521." But with posting a bit behind today, it didn't run on CM. But there's a happy ending. It had looked bad at the time, because this sweetheart of a dog had been promised to a nine year old Rhode Island boy. But it all worked out, thanks to good Samaritan Leah Dennis, the story turned from fret to fortunate find on Wheeler Hill - and leaves Peg Schaeffer in deeper ice cream debt. The shelter called me and said they needed help placing dogs. She was a stray and was going to be euthanized. So yesterday I met them at the state line and took in Greta, a senior Rat Feist mix, and a Chihuahua mix. They're all good dogs and Greta is a real sweetheart. She stayed by my side all day. Wm. Casey Elementary School have been celebrating Music in Our Schools Month throughout March. Mrs. Laura Marcum, music teacher at the school, has organized various activities. Each week CWC students have celebrated a different era of music - 50's, 60's,70's, and this week the 80's. They have also learned about different styles of music such as country, bluegrass, folk, rock, classical, jazz and more. On Tuesday, March 20, the students were treated to an extra special "live" performance. Members of the Adair County High School Jazz Band, under the direction of Asst. Band Director, Jonathon Holmes, performed selections from different time periods.
