She was a member of a highly regarded, distinguished family. She was Valedictorian of the Cumberland County High School class of 2000, and Salutatorian of the Lindsey Wilson College class of 2004 graduating Summa Cum Laude. Shelly was a ultrasonagrapher with Floyd Memorial Hospital, New Albany, IN

Shelly Nichole Thrasher, age 30 of Louisville, KY formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY, from injuries sustained in automobile accident.

Funeral services will be at 2pmCT,Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with Brandon Thompson officiating. Burial in the Christian Chapel Cemetery. Family requests visitation from 3pm until 9pmCT Friday, March 23, 2012 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville, KY.



Shelly Nichole Thrasher, formerly of Burkesville, KY (1981-2012)

Shelly was born on Friday, November 22, 1981 in Albany, Clinton County, KY. She was the daughter of Tayra Walker Thrasher and the late Danny Thrasher. She died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 30 years, 3 months, and 28 days.

She was Valedictorian of the Cumberland County High School class of 2000, and Salutatorian of the Lindsey Wilson College class of 2004 graduating Summa Cum Laude. Shelly was a ultrasonagrapher with Floyd Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her father, Danny Thrasher, and maternal grandmother, Ruth Walker.

Survivors include:
  • Her mother: Tayra Thrasher of Burkesville, KY

  • Her fiance': Dustin Overacker of Louisville, KY

  • One sister: Stephanie Thrasher of Burkesville, KY

  • Nephew: Bradon McKee of Burkesville, KY

  • Aunts and uncles: Mary Peretto(Ed), Linda Thacker (Glen), Brenda Baise, Denton Walker, and Tammy Dicken(Wayne) all of Burkesville, KY

  • Special friends: Brittany Johnston of Louisville, KY and Stephanie Crady of Elizabethtown, KY

  • A host of co-workers, other aunts and uncles, family and many friends

  • Paternal Grandparents- Betty and Fred Thrasher of Somerset, KY
