40th Anniversary for the Quinns March 17, 2012 With a special thank you to friends in Adair County By Dean Quinn Tomorrow, March 17, Patricia and I will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We were married at Knifley Brethren In Christ Church in 1972. This year will be a little different. Patricia has had surgery and is currently a patient at Norton Hospital in Louisville. She is experiencing a long and exhausting recovery but slowly and surely she is getting better. We want to say a special Thank You to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. We have again realized the reason we live in Adair County, the best place on earth to call home. --Dean Quinn 2012-03-16 19:22:05 | Comments | Printable version

If it looks slightly familiar to you, it should. The barn was featured in the 2008 Marine Corps recruiting campaign. The ad was run during the Super Bowl and had the Marine Silent Drill Platoon twirling their rifles with the barn as a back drop. BJF: Quality of Future contingent on understanding past The Case for Putting Sparksville on the Sparksville Water Tower Comments re photo 44254 The Sparksville Water tower in the Old Road redux By Billy Joe Fudge Guest Editorial Our county's many communities outside our glorious county seat have a real identity problem. These many small communities: Sparksville, Knifley, Garlin, Christine, Milltown, Glensfork, Breeding, Cane Valley, Gradyville, Keltner, Melson's Ridge, Coburg, etc. have contributed much to the county and to who we are as a people. I do personally think the water tower is a perfect opportunity to identify the exact location of this tower which serves much of Adair County's water needs. How many more High Speed Chase stories Comments re article 50649 High speed chase Adair Russell ends The Flatwoods KY Rita Smith writes: How many more articles about this so called high speed chase gonna be on the CM? I know there is much more to gossip about besides this high speed chase. I think I have already counted 4 maybe 5 articles so far. Sincerely- Rita SmithThanks, Rita Smith, for raising this point. There may be more. We thought it big news - that people ought to be aware that absolutely crazy, random things happen even in Adair County. I personally think law enforcement did what it had to do. However, your criticism is sincerely appreciated. I believe that people, in general, do things to get attention, and if we give attention to bad behavior, it creates an incentive for more bad behavior. It was tough call. Only hope we were mostly right. Civil discourse such as yours is always welcome. We don't, and won't tolerate or even acknowledge discourteous or disrespectful comments. -EW 2012-03-16 07:03:25 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Commentary
