Green oak logs needed to mushroom growing media Calling Good Samaritan firewood cutter By Barbara Armitage Help! I am in desperate need of help from a Columbia Magazine reader! I own all the latest techno gadgets loaded with gardening information, our entire farm is Wi-Fi , I am a Master Gardener and I'm the president of the Adair County Garden Club for heaven's sake and I can't find an oak tree! So far my abilities in tree identification only include trees that have leaves. Here's my problem I just received word that I need several 40 to 45 inch long oak logs (about 5 to 6 inches in diameter) for a mushroom growing class I'm attending next week. To complicate matters I need green wood (or at least not completely dry). Is there a firewood cutter out there who can help me? I will gladly pay for the logs. Please call Barbara at 270-250-2979.
