JIM geographizes, clarifies: Rowe's X Roads in Russell Co., KY

Rev. Thomas Hadley was the Rowe's X Roads, Russell Co., KY, correspondent to the Adair County News in 1911
Change edicted in JIM's fiat has been carried out

By JIM

You need to change the headline from "Rowetown news" to "Rowe's X-Roads" news.

Rowe's Crossroads (or X-Roads) is in Russell County, some three miles east (as the crow flies) and slightly south of Jamestown. Or, in more universally understood terms, it lies about two miles south and a bit west of Esto. (The name quite incorrectly appears as Rose X-Roads on some maps.)In 1911 (the newspaper image is from August 16th of that year), the correspondent for Rowe's X-Roads was the kindly but blunt-spoken Rev. Thomas Hadley, late of Company G, 3rd Ky. (Vol.) Inft., Union.

As I recall (but am far too lazy to check), the News edition either of August 23rd or August 30th carried additional names of those present at the 1911 gathering of old soldiers.
