OKCC Veterans Recognition Days July 2-3, 2010

Betty's OK Country Cooking is having a special tribute to all of the veterans and service men and women who have helped this great nation maintain our independence.

We have purchased a large number of tee shirts and are giving away a free tee shirt to each veteran who visits Betty's this Friday and Saturday, July 2-3, 2010, (while supply lasts), and we will also be drawing for various gifts to be given away this weekend.

'A New Look at the New Deal,' program will air in July on 89.7 FM, Somerset/Columbia (Radio Purdy, transmitter in Adair County, KY with signal reaching Somerset on some good days) - CM

BOWLING GREEN, KY - "A New Look at the New Deal," a radio documentary which featured numerous Western Kentucky University faculty members, has earned second place in national competition for the Best Public Radio Documentary of 2009. Produced and anchored by WKU Public Radio News Director Dan Modlin, the in-depth report examined the successes and shortcomings of the New Deal legislation of the 1930s.

He was a member of a respected Cumberland Co., KY, family and was a construction worker by trade

Tim Huff, age 29 of Burkesville, KY died Monday, June 28, 2010 in Celina, TN as the result of an automobile accident.
