The winters: Stump Winter stumps panel Redbud, Dogwood, Blackberry winters are easy to identify, but Stump and Linen Britches, and others - if there are any - are vague periods. Puzzled panel asks help on truly important matter By Carol Reeves Shaul Julia Ann, Sandy Fletcher Estes and I have been communicating on Facebook, and the subject has come up of the various "Winters" that we have each year. We have identified so far this year: Redbud Winter, Dogwood Winter, Blackberry Winter; and, I admit, there have been differing opinons as to when each of those actually took place! I assumed we are having "Linen Britches Winter" - but I just heard of a new one, that Sandy's Mom mentioned - Stump Winter!! Any of your readers know of any more "winters" than the ones we came up with? and does anyone have a true chronological list of just when these "winters" take place? Redbud and Dogwood - easy. That's when the redbuds and dogwoods are in bloom. Blackberry easy - when the blackberries are in bloom , around the first of May. Or so. then, it gets muddled. Linen Britches? Stump? This is truly important, so help out! 2010-05-19 03:55:24 | Comments | Printable version Birthdays and Anniversaries for May 19 Happy Anniversary, Greg and Lisa Cooper (2012) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday Sommer Blair Brown | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Annette Burton | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Barry Petty | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Charles Bennett | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Chasity Bennett | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Dustin Fudge | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Emily Murrell (1989) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Grayson Bragg (2003) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Kendra Glasgow | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Michael Burton (1995) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Moe Hawkins | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Morgan Long | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Patrick Christopher Oliver (2011) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Quinn Smith Lasley | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Ronnie Hancock | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Sharon Edwards | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Sherry Sapp | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Shirley Lawless | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Sommer Blair Brown | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Tammy L.
