Obituary: Ilene Roy, 79, Russell Co., KY

She was the head of a large, respected Russell County family, a member of the Russell Springs United Baptist Church, and a homemaker. She leaves 24 direct living descendants

Ilene Roy, 79, Foley RD, Russell Springs, KY, died Monday, May 17, 2010, at Norton's Healthcare in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, May 20, 2010, at 10amCT, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Kenneth Hammond and Bro. Ronnie Ford officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, 4790 W. Highway 80, Somerset, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at the funeral home.


Pallbearers: Patrick Ford, Michael Ford, Chris Ford, Benjamin Roy, Andy Thomas, and Daniel Phillips.

Ilene Robertson Roy, Russell Co., KY (1930-2010)

She was the daughter of the late Vona Cook Robertson and John Daniel Robertson. She was born in Russell Co., KY, on Sunday, September 14, 1930, and died Monday, May 17, 2010, in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 3 days.

She is survived by her husband, Ansel Roy, Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • One son: Douglas (Karen) Roy, Russell Springs, KY

  • One daughter: Rosanna (Ronnie) Ford, Russell Springs, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Twelve great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arlin, Arthur, and Oliver Robertson.She was a member of the Russell Springs United Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
