Heard that Vinegar Pie is TN version of KY Chess Pie

Happy restaurant is still in operation
About: Epicurean Kentuckian: Vinegar pie on Clinch Mountain

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I discovered that restaurant and pie while traveling between Virginia and Campbellsville from 1959 -1976 during the summer months.

Obtained the recipe and just recently took to a church supper and members couldn't believe it had vinegar in it.

I was told it was Clinch Mountain's version of the Ky Chess Pie. The vinegar counteracts the eggy taste of the Chess Pie. Glad to hear the restaurant is still in operation.

Big Al Owens finds home of the Original Vinegar Pie, and highly recommends it

By Big Al Owens, the Big Rig Trucker
Reporting from on the road near Bean Station, TN

On my many travels I was fortunate enough to find this gem on 25E in Tennessee.

This is a beautiful place. I ate at the Clinch Mountain Diner.

I had pinto beans, fried taters, cornbread and vinegar pie.
