We have Gen. John Adair's birthday + more; did we miss others? It is the birthday of Gen. John Adair, for whom Adair County, KY; Adair County, IA; Adair County, MO; Adarville, KY; and Adair, IA, were named. (Adair County, OK, the only other Adair County in the United States, was named neither for our Gen. John Adair nor for Red Adair, the famous oil well firefighter, as you might expect.) General John Adair is buried in the Frankfort Cemetery. General Adair's Birthday is listed in today's ColumbiaMagazine.com "Birthdays and Anniversaries for January 9," but he shares the spotlight with many other important people. They are beautiful all the time, but with the snow on the ground and it still snowing, it was a beautiful sight to behold. I don't have a camera that would take a clear picture from the distance I was viewing them from or I would have sent you a picture. Beshear will again be supporting legislation in the current session of the General Assembly that would increase the penalty of sexual misconduct by correctional officers and other prison officials from a Class A misdemeanor to a Class D felony.
