We have Gen. John Adair's birthday + more; did we miss others? It is the birthday of Gen. John Adair, for whom Adair County, KY; Adair County, IA; Adair County, MO; Adarville, KY; and Adair, IA, were named. (Adair County, OK, the only other Adair County in the United States, was named neither for our Gen. John Adair nor for Red Adair, the famous oil well firefighter, as you might expect.) General John Adair is buried in the Frankfort Cemetery. General Adair's Birthday is listed in today's ColumbiaMagazine.com "Birthdays and Anniversaries for January 9," but he shares the spotlight with many other important people. We've tried to list them all, but if, by some oversight, we've missed someone who ought to be listed in Birthdays, please help us Do Right and send us any names which ought to be, but aren't listed today. Use any Contact/Submit button. This story was posted on 2010-01-09 07:48:58
