The 2008 Relay for Life total was $90,000. Not a record, but not bad at all, considering the economy and rain last night.

Letter: Thanks for looking for Squeeky

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

I would like to say thank you to all my neighbors and friends who went out of their way to look for my lost parrot, Squeeky. Alas, we never found her but still have hope. Squeeky is a sun conure. She's a very bright yellow, orange and green about the size of a dove. Thank you all for your kindness.

COF cc's letter to Adair County Judge Executive

Dear CJE,

Re: your letter concerning City participation in the 911 Center funding: Not a Home Run but you definitely advanced the runners!
Sadly tho' life is full of "If only's"
If only you had added the following sentence to the end of your letter:
However, given the current economic climate, I am not sure how long the magistrates will be willing to consider the current level of funding.
THEN we would have been treated to a summer long local raree that would have rivaled anything Obama and Clinton were capable of.

Unfortunately, we now seemed doomed to Obama/McCain to get us thru the summer malaise.

Comments on Birds of Kentucky: Geese at Sunset

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

An outstanding image that Pen has captured here. Love it. The colors are perfect, the foreground almost appears to be the ocean with waves crashing onto shore. If I could only be half as good as him I would be happy. Keep up the fantastic work, Pen! I've yet to see a image that he's captured that isn't good if not fantastic.
