The US Army Corps of Engineers recently held a contest for school aged children to submit a name for a new 18 ft tall Water Safety Display.

The new display is meant to attract your attention, as well as make you and all our visitors to the lake "think" about water safety. After reading each entry and much deliberation "Billy Floats A lot" was chosen as the winning name and was submitted by Jordan Humphress, 13 of Knifley, KY.

Jordans entry was chosen based on how "catchy it was" and how his description promoted Water Safety. Jordans description "He is wearing a lifejacket and because of this he will float" is exactly what Green River Lakes water safety message is all about. As the chosen winner Jordan was presented with a $100.00 gift card provided by Wal-Mart of Campbellsville.

The US Army Corps of Engineers at Green River Lake would like to thank all the kids who participated in the contest and a special thanks to Wal-Mart of Campbellsville for their continued support of Green River Lakes Water Safety Initiative.
