On the phone to Cousin Bam Carney

2008-05-20 - Adair County Annex Building - Photo By Ed Waggener.
SHANNON THOMAS, a Cousin of Bam Carney, the winner of the Republican nomination for the 51st District House of Representatives nomination, talked with her Carney to compare notes on the votes in Adair and Taylor County. Carney narrowly lost Adair County, by 82 votes, but his 376 vote margin in Taylor County more than made the difference. Strong family ties in the precincts above Green River paid off for Carney, and work by Shannon Thomas and other Adair County cousins helped offset big Lindsey Wilson College student voting and a youth oriented campaign by Asa Swan in Adair County. In the reflection in window, right, is Adair County Court Clerk Sheila Blair.

East 80 Bridge: Does anybody have any answers?

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

In 232 days the Wal-Mart Super Center has come a long way, the By-Pass is nearing completion but yet we still cannot cross the East 80 bridge which is a much smaller project than either of the above mentioned. Our local taxpayers are out a lot of extra gas money and our state will be out even more when they start repairing Greenhills Rd. which was not meant to carry the extra weight that it has had to endure for the prolonged time. Not only is the wear and tear on Greenhills Rd. a concern but the safety of those who have had to travel it. How much longer do we have to deal with this situation?

Does anyone have any answers?
