The Adair County Garden Club talks the talk about keeping the earth clean and we walk the walk. Remembering Bert Stotts: He was wonderful carver To ColumbiaMagazine.com: I was greatly saddened this morning when I saw the obituary for Bert Stotts. As a child growing up at my father's store in Sparksville, Mr. Bert was a daily visitor and one of my Dad's favorite checker playing friends. Ironically, his passing was on what would have been my Dad's 86th birthday. Mr. Bert not only was a great checker player, but he was also wonderful at carving miniature tools. Thinks no significance to the italicized N in AMANDAVILLE About Photo of Amandaville Christian Church sign We've gotten this letter about the italicized "N" in the sign on the Amandaville Christian Church: "I grew up in the Amandaville community and attended church at the Amandaville Christian Church as I grew up. My parents and grandparents, and other relatives, were long-term members," Rev. John Chowning wrote. "I don't think there's particular significance to the italicized 'N' other than it was made that way. There may be a particular story, but I don't recall it. Those letters have been there a long time"Sounds like the right answer, but another person wrote an opinion that the letter looks like a "Z" on its side.
