Nothing wakes her mother, but that earthquake sure did!

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

You know some people will do anything to see their Mom and Dad. I guess I'm no different. I fell down the steps on my back porch Thursday night and broke my left foot and possibly broke the right one.

Either way, I can't walk on either foot. The only good thing about that is Mom and Dad, Joyce and Dallas Eaton, came up here to West Virginia on Friday night. So, we are sitting around talking.

They live in Glasgow and the earthquake woke them up at 4:30am and they felt a smaller one later in the morning. Mom says it shook everything in the house. Dad says nothing wakes Mom up, but that earthquake sure did!

My niece woke her Mom up and said her dresser was shaking and she couldn't get it to stop. Kids are so funny.

I told Mom and Dad they were safe now, in West Virginia.

Take care.

Thanks for sharing your memories from the Great Earthquake of April 18, 2008. Hope you heal soon, and don't have to go to such extremes to get parental visits! -EW
