Adair County Garden Club cleans Greenhills RD

By Barbara Armitage

You know the old joke about the man who went to the doctor and said "Doc it hurts when I do this" and the doctor replied, "Well just don't do that". This really applies to littering. Throwing trash on Kentucky's roadsides hurts us all so "just don't do that."

The Adair County Garden Club talks the talk about keeping the earth clean and we walk the walk. Members Barbara Armitage, Mimi Bairstow, Johnnie Biggs, Nancy Cozby, Sharon Gray, Vonnie Kolbenschlag, Lucille Lemmon, Mary Sharp, Jennifer Smith, Dora Mae Stone, Ginger Swift, cleaned Greenhills Road on Saturday morning, April 19, 2008 picking up 19 bags of trash and we aren't finished yet. We are committed to keeping Adair County clean.

Please think twice before you toss a soda can or a food container out the car window. Gardeners would rather send their time planting flowers than picking up your trash.

If you'd like to be a part of the Adair County Garden Club call Barbara Armitage at (270) 250-2979. We meet the 4th Thursday of each month at 1:00 central.
