Radon Action Month includes calendar contest

If any Adair County class has entries for the 2009 Radon Poster Contest, mentioned below, photos and stories would be appreciated.-CM

The Cabinet for Health and Family Services' radon program and other agencies are urging Kentuckians to learn more about the dangers of radon, particularly in the home, during Radon Action Month in January.

Western Kentucky University, the Kentucky Clean Indoor Air Partnership and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are joining the awareness effort, an annual event to educate the public about the health risks of exposure to radon.

Radon is an invisible, odorless, radioactive gas that occurs naturally in our rocks and soils. It enters homes through cracks and other openings in foundations. Any home can have elevated levels of radon. The only way to know about your home is to test.

Gas Price Drumbeat: Still putting it to us

Some suggestions, follow, for some oil distributor face saving reparations follow
Ed:

Gas prices around us range from $2.67 and up. Meantime ours finally came down to $2.88. Now they are going up everywhere around us so I guess ours will go up some more. Would like to know the reason why?

s/Gerald Doss

Thanks for leading this noble cause. We need your continued input on the differential, for the record.

The gas distributors are telling us why they are putting it to us (Is there any other way to put it?). Not enough direct competition here.
