Stephanie Abbott, 26, Albany, KY, was shot in the leg. Welsh E-mail: Joey_n_welsh@hotmail.com A GOOD NAME COUNTS IN KENTUCKY COUNTY NAMES, PART II As I wrote last week, having a good name is an important thing. This truth is referenced in scripture (take a look at Proverbs 22 and Ecclesiastes 7, for example) and confirmed in daily life. In Kentucky the good names of some interesting folks have been honored through the counties that serve as their namesakes. Among the counties named 200 years ago for prominent people are Clay (for General Green Clay), Hopkins (for Samuel Hopkins) and Lewis (for Meriwether Lewis). I touched on those counties last week, but this week I take note of another man whose name was affixed to a Kentucky county back in 1806, Colonel William Casey (1754-1816). Three vehicles involved in Edmonton injury accident A three vehicle accident at West Stockton Street (US 68/KY 80) and Bushong Lane in Edmonton resulted to injuries to occupants of two of the vehicles.A 2006 Chevrolet operated by Jeremy Garmon, 39, was turning left onto Bushong Lane from US68/KY80 when the vehicle collided with a 2000 Ford operated by Sarah G. Estes, 17, Edmonton, KY. The Estes vehicle, subsequently collided with a 2001 Pontiac operated by Angie R. Calix, 30, Edmonton, KY. Passenger taken to UK following KY 70 accident Aurora Gonzalez, 24, Liberty, KY, was admitted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY, following a one-vehicle accident yesterday afternoon, Saturday, November 11, 2006. Gonzales did not have a seat belt in use. The accident occurred three miles east of Liberty on KY 70, at 1:00pm, ET. Letter: Did Election Day concerns influence Adair gas prices? BJ Fudge sends his opinions on price of gasoline in Adair County I am not complaining for I like to take no part in non-productive, waste of motion activities. I am, however, just going to present the facts as I know them and make a few, what I believe to be, logical assumptions. Gasoline a few days before Tuesday was a $1.99.9 per gallon in Russell County while some $0.10 to $0.15 per gallon higher here in Columbia.
