Husband arrested following complaint of shooting

Trooper Nathan Cary, SGT Ken Hill, and Trooper Toby Young investigate incident

At 10:10pm, ET, Saturday night, November 11, 2006, the Kentucky State Police received a call of a shooting that occurred seven miles east of Albany while the victim was driving on KY 90.

Stephanie Abbott, 26, Albany, KY, was shot in the leg.



She was taken to Clinton County Hospital in Albany, KY, and transferred to UK Medical Center in Lexington.

The suspect, the victim's ex-husband, Donnie Abbott, was later arrested in Monticello by the Monticello Police Department and the Wayne County Sheriff's Department.

Donnie Abbott was chrged with assault 1st and wanton endangerment 1st and lodged in the Clinton County Jail.

The investigation is continuing. Trooper Nathan Cary was assisted by SGT Ken Hill and Trooper Toby Young, all of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.
