Health Fair is this Saturday at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital



2006-10-06 .
The Jane Todd Crawford Hospital and The Westlake Management Team are proud to bring you the 2006 HEALTH FAIR in Greensburg this Saturday, October 7th. Booths will be open to the public from 7 a.m. until 12 noon, CDT. The Hospital will be offering laboratory health screenings (blood is drawn from your arm) providing over $300 in value for only $12. If you're in a hurry, have your blood draws (lab screenings) done early on Tuesday/October 3, Wednesday/October 4, or Thursday/October 5, between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM CDT, so you can get your lab results Saturday morning during the Health Fair. You can also wait and have your lab blood work done beginning at 7 AM to 11 AM CDT the day of the health fair, Saturday, October 7th! (Remember to fast, water only, for 12 hours preceeding your blood draw). And be sure to register for the big FREE COLOR TELEVISION to be given away at the Health Fair. Machismo at Dream Depot on October 14 and 21, 2006

October 14 and 21, 2006, at 7:00pm: Machismo (Greg Blair, Craig Dean, Andy mann, and Neal Sneed) will be performing at The Dream Depot two Saturdays in a row, October 14 and 21 at 7:00 pm CT. They will be performing some country, pop, and some oldies. This group always keeps the crowd gooing and asking for more, so come out, bring the whole family and enjoy the show. It is suggested that you get your reservations in early as Machismo is usually a sell out show. Call 270 634-2894 or 384-2657 to make sure you get a seat. - ELAINE BENNET.

Summit Manor Fall Fundraiser starts at 4:00pm today

Reminder of event: Friday, October 6, 2006: We would like to post our annual Fall Festival Fundraiser event at Summit Manor on Friday, October 6th, from 4pm to 7 pm. Vendor spots are available to rent for $10 each spot. Our festival will include cake walks, face painting, carnival games, fall pictures, and much much more. Everyone is invited to attend this fun filled event that brings joy to our residents, employees and the community. All proceeds will go toward the Activity Department at Summit Manor. If you would like a vendor spot, or would like to donate a cake or help with this event you can contact Angie McAllister at (270) 384-2153.

Jody Richards will speak at Democratic rally at 6:00pm

Speaker of the House Jody Richards , Bowling Green, KY, will be the keynote speaker at the Adair County Democratic Rally this evening, Friday, October 6, 2006, at at the VFW Hall by the Adair County Fairgrounds. Most county Democratic candidates are expected to attend and speak.

Richards is a native of Garlin, KY and a graduate of Adair County High School. Each day he serves as Speaker of the Kentucky House of Representatives sets a new record for the longest tenure in the history of the Commonwealth.

The event will start at 6:00pm with hamburgers, hotdogs, and the fixings for lunch. The event is free and open to the public.

Obituary: Myrtie Stotts, 91, member Wells Chapel Baptist Church

Myrtie Stotts, 91, a resident of Summit Manor Nursing Home, formerly of the Breeding Community, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2006, at 5:25pm at the Westlake Regiona Hospital after several weeks illness.

The funeral service will be Sunday, October 8, 2006, at 2:00pm CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, with Rev. Thurman Gerald officiating.

Adair Arts Council decides to hold Historic Christmas Open House

The Adair Arts Council met Thursday, October 5, at the Trabue Russell House on Jamestown Street and made a few changes in structure and also decided to go ahead with plans for the Historic Open House on December 2.

$2,500 Reward offered in Knifley Burglary case

Dwaine Barnett, public affairs officer at Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, has updated burglary at Knifley story to add: There is a $2,500 reward being offered for informations that leads to the arrest and conviction or individuals responsible.

Emily Griffith Anderson murder case: 10/6/2006 Update

Anderson bond hearing delayed

The latest story out of Lenoir, NC, is that the bond hearing for Jerry Lee Anderson has been postponed.

Jerry Lee Anderson, charged in the murder of his wife, Emily Griffith Anderson, appeared recently in the News Topic of Lenoir City, NC.

Emily Griffith Anderson grew up in Columbia and was very recently a resident of Cane Valley, KY.
