Prayers and support needed to help Daniel Gadberry

Ann Murphy hoped her son, Daniel Gadberry, was going to come home any day now, but instead, she writes that when they got back from visiting him Friday afternoon at U of L Hospital in Louisville, they found a message that he had been taken back to the ICU after they left.

BRYANT AND HIS GUARD DOG RUSTY were at Wendy's Friday afternoon having an early dinner when an accident in the parking lot drew everyone's attention. Bryant has been in the car business for many years so he stayed to see that the boys were alright and observe the wrecker pull out the car that had gone through the fence. He and Rusty were heading for an event on the square after all the excitement was over.

4-H News: carnival, kids day coming September 30 at Fairgrounds

Come join the fun at the Adair County 4-H Carnival/Kids Day September 30 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm at the Adair County Fairgrounds. There will be activities for all ages. Some activities and crafts will befree. Some activities will require tickets. Tickets are fifty cents each or 12 for$5.00. All proceeds from the carnival will be used to support the activities ofthe Adair County 4-H program.

Obituary: Marshall Rowe, 84, WWII Veteran, farmer

Marshall Rowe, age 84, of Pelham Branch Road, Columbia, passed away Friday, September 15, 2006 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was the son of the late O. G. and Valeria Campbell Rowe.

His funeral will be Monday afternoon. Visitation begins Sunday after 11:30 a.m.

Obituary: Dan Royse, 74, US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict

Mr. Royse was a Presbyterian, a Mason, and a prominent Columbia businessman who was a Gordon Potato Chips distributor for 40 years

Dan Royse, 74, of 113 Guthrie St., Columbia, KY, passed away Friday, September 15, 2006 at 10:00pm CT, at his home.

The funeral service will be Monday, September 18, 2006, at 10:30am CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Rev. Dwight Forderhase the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery with Military Honors by local VFW Post 6097. Masonic rites will be conducted Sunday evening at 7:00pm at the funeral home.

CPD gets him back! Christian apprehended in Pulaski CO

A tip to Columbia Police Officer Josh Brockman leads to return of locally famous fugitive, whose latest escape ends after 145 days of freedom. The long arm of the Columbia PD has him nabbed just two-counties away. Pulaski Sheriff's Office makes arrest. After short stay in Somerset, Christian Wheeler returned to old digs at Monroe & Greensburg Streets in Columbia, KY

Christian Wheeler has been returned to the Adair County Regional Jail.

Passenger injured when vehicle strikes cow on Fairview RD

A cow-Toyota collision 11 mile east of Columbia on Fairview RD resulted in injuries for a passenger.

The incident occurred 40 minutes past midnight, Saturday, September 16, 2006.

Troy Petty, 21, Columbia, KY, was treated and released at the hospital in Columbia.

LWC Soccer: Women shut out Bethel 2-0 in KELME classic

No. 7 in nation LWC women shut-out No. 16 Bethel on goals by Whitelaw, Falconer

The No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson College womens soccer team won their sixth straight game tonight with a 2-0 win over visiting No. 16-ranked Bethel (Tenn.) College in the KELME Classic at Lindsey Wilson Park.

The win marks the third consecutive win over a ranked opponent and fourth in five tries against the NAIA Top-25. Only No. 6-ranked Houghton (N.Y.) College has beaten the Blue Raiders (6-1-0) this season.
