Obituary: Dan Royse, 74, US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict

Mr. Royse was a Presbyterian, a Mason, and a prominent Columbia businessman who was a Gordon Potato Chips distributor for 40 years

Dan Royse, 74, of 113 Guthrie St., Columbia, KY, passed away Friday, September 15, 2006 at 10:00pm CT, at his home.

The funeral service will be Monday, September 18, 2006, at 10:30am CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Rev. Dwight Forderhase the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery with Military Honors by local VFW Post 6097. Masonic rites will be conducted Sunday evening at 7:00pm at the funeral home.


Mr. Royse was the son of the late Amly and Lena Stapp Royse.

He is survived by his wife, Audra Rogers Royse of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Terrie Frederick of Nashville, TN

  • Two sons: Mark Royse and his wife Jan. and Timmy Royse and his wife Gidget, all of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Kenneth Royse, Bowling Green, KY

  • One sister: Mildred Cundiff of Bowling Green, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Tyler, Rhea, Katie, Emilee and Abby
Dan was a member of the Columbia Union Presbyterian Church, He was a Gordon Potato Chips distributor for 40 years, a 50 year member of Columbia Masonic Lodge #96, and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U. S. Army.

Expression of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the local VFW Post 6097 and may be made at the funeral homeStotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.

Visitation will be after 11:30am CT, Sunday, September 17, 2006, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY.
