Gregory A. Burress, 71, Green County, KY (1951-2023) Gregory A. Burress, of Greensburg was born November 20, 1951 in Jefferson County, KY to the late George Olin Burress and Margery Adelle Tucker Burress. He departed this life on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his home, having attained the age of 71 years 6 months and 14 days. He was a graduate of Green County High School, received a Bachelor's Degree and was the owner of Greensburg Lumber Company for 35 years. He was also an active member of the Classical Glass Corvette Club. He had made a profession of faith and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. Nursing home if you must - but have an advocate The Friendly Visitor Volunteers program allows any interested citizens to check in and be an advocate to help nursing home patients... During May, Older Americans Month and Volunteer Appreciation Month, folks were celebrated at the Lake Cumberland Area Development District Aging Council regular meeting in Russell Springs. The featured speaker who attended via the Internet, shared details about the nursing home industry in the state. He said that his mother, a nurse, told him, "put me in a nursing home if you must but pay someone if you can't come weekly who will be an advocate for my needs that there's just not enough staff to handle."
