Boil Water Advisory: Mt. Carmel/Bridgewater/Kellyville Roads Update: Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Mt. Carmel/Bridgewater/Kellyville Roads By Columbia/Adair Utilities District Date Issued 3/28/2022 Time Issued 2:45 p.m. Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using. This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality. Letter: Agrees with Tamara Johnny Roemisch has written in to update his previous speculation about the mystery in the historic display at the Trabue Russell House. After exhaustively comparing our artifact with exhibits at Harvard's Countway Library, Johnny is confident that Tamara Andrew is correct that the item is in fact a field medical kit. A similar kit in Harvard's collection is a Civil War era "pocket surgery kit," containing instruments made by the George Tiemann & Co. of New York. Harvard's Countway Library is open to Harvard ID holders only, while the Trabue Russell House's current exhibit is open to everyone from 1-3pmCT on each of the following Saturdays and Sundays: April 2nd and 3rd, and on the weekend of April 9th and 10th, 2022. Congratulations to ACMS Academic Team The Adair County Middle School Academic Team earned a Top 10 finish in Future Problem Solving at the Governor's Cup State Championships, which were held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at the Galt House in Louisville. Students that had advanced to the championships from all over the state competed in the topic of Mining. Adair's team finished 8th overall in the event. CPD: Meth arrest on Jamestown Street By Officer Adam Cravens, PIO Columbia Police Department On Sunday, March 27, 2022, the Columbia Police Department initiated a traffic stop on Jamestown Street near FiveStar just after 7pmCT. During the stop, a female passenger was taken into custody, initially for an active warrant out of county. Subsequent search of the female suspect's property and the vehicle led to additional drug charges, because suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia were located by officers.
