Jacquelin Bennett, 78, Campbellsville, KY (1943-2022)

Jacquelin Marie Ward Bennett passed away peacefully in Lexington, Kentucky on March 23, 2022. She was 78 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 2pmET on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY.

Visitation will be held from 11amET until 2pmET on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the funeral home.

Jackie was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 5, 1943 to Jackson B. and Iris A. Ward. She developed her relationship with Christ and many lifelong friends at Walnut Street Baptist Church, just blocks from her house. She worked to put herself through school at Campbellsville University (then Campbellsville College). Jackie had an adventurous spirit. She worked summers in Colorado, hiking the mountain trails. She also traveled Europe. After college, Jackie worked as a school teacher.

Through Campbellsville College she met and married Jerry Bennett, settled in Campbellsville, and raised three children. Her faith walk continued at Campbellsville Baptist Church.

Jackie was a devoted mother and grandmother, noting that being a mother was her "true calling". Her passion was nutrition, as she fiercely fought cancer for many years, outliving many doctors' prognoses.

After Jerry's death in 2006, Jackie married her childhood friend from Louisville, George Roberts.

Jackie fiercely loved her children and grandchildren. Although she will be missed, she is walking in paradise today with Our Lord.

Jackie was proceeded in death by her parents, Jackson B. and Iris A. Ward, first husband Jerry Bennett, and second husband, George Roberts. She leaves behind 3 children, Jerry Dale Bennett II (Robin) of Tucson, Arizona; Jeff Bennett (Liz) of Lexington, Kentucky; Jennifer Bennett of Lexington, Kentucky; two step children, Byron Roberts (Debbie) of Union, Kentucky; Michelle Anderson of East Peoria, Illinois; two grandchildren, Zoe Bennett, Jentry Myers; eight step-grandchildren, Brandon Baney (Marissa), Brittany Baney, Tyler Roberts (Blake), Hannah Hill (Ryan), Kelsey Anderson, Katy Anderson, William Anderson V, Natalie Breidel; and many family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Inc. dba Bluegrass Care Navigators, 1733 Harrodsburg Rd, Lexington, KY 40504 and Campbellsville University.

Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences at parrottramsey.com.
