He was born August 13, 1939 in Adair County to the late Hugh and Dimple Reeves Yates. Don was a successful businessman, owning and operating Don Yates Drilling. Firemen respond to Gaston Avenue property By Donald Hare The Columbia City Fire Department was called out on Monday Morning at 8:14 am to 1124 Gaston Avenue, Columbia, to property owned by Joe Pyles. Upon arrival heavy smoke was coming from eaves of the roof. Property suffered heavy damage. LWC signs Reduced Tuition Agreements with two local groups By Travis Smith Assistant Director of Public Relations and Media Coordinator Lindsey Wilson College recently signed agreements with the Lake Cumberland District Health Department and Spero Health that will provide reduced tuition rates in select academic programs for the employees and immediate family members of both organizations as well as provide assistance in obtaining financial aid.
