All-In for LWC 48-hour challenge begins on Tuesday, March 30

To make a gift of any amount to the All In for LWC Chair's Challenge during March 30-31, you can give online by clicking on www.lindsey.edu/giving. You can also call the college's development office at 270-384-8400. Gifts can be restricted to a specific program or can be unrestricted to the general fund.

By Venus Popplewell

The Lindsey Wilson College Board of Trustees, along with Chairman of the Board and Adair County native Allan Parnell have an important question for LWC alumni and friends -- "How will YOU be All-In for LWC?"

The 48-hour yearly event to raise money for student aid will begin on Tuesday, March 30 and will last until midnight on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. The social media campaign dubbed "All-In For LWC" is traditionally held during the fall semester but was postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Regardless of the challenges we are facing, the LWC mission continues," says LWC President William T. Luckey Jr. "The 'All-In' campaign is a time of fellowship and fun. For two days each year, we loosen our ties and get down to work. It's a campus-wide effort and we enjoy every minute working alongside our students. So naturally, we were disappointed when the coronavirus prevented us from holding the campaign in the fall of 2020."

Letter: Memories of school pictures

Jim writes:
Billy Joe Fudge's saga of the school picture, the brown corduroy coat, and the ensuing Divine Intervention brought smiles and memories. For one of my early school photos (second grade, perhaps), my brain freeze thawed far too late to heed my Mama's words and remove the large Kellogg corn flakes rooster button pinned to my shirt. I can't recall if my prayer were as fervent as BJF's but I have no recollection of retribution, so maybe it was.

I wonder if Jo Allison were the photographer at Breeding for the 1956/57 school year. My (admittedly spotty) memory says Mr. Allison did the photos at Russell Springs Elementary all of the years (about a dozen, more or less) of my attendance there.
