New locations also include 10 Kroger sites, 10 Walmart sites and 136 independent pharmacies. To see lists of all sites, organized by program and provider brand, visit < a href=https://govstatus.egov.com/kentucky-vaccine-survey>https://govstatus.egov.com/kentucky-vaccine-survey.

Brad Stone: always grateful for Adair education

"...Adair County gave us a firm footing that allows us to be sensible and decent people wherever we find ourselves..."

By Dr. Brad Elliott Stone

ColumbiaMagazine.com announced in the local news my promotion at LMU. I am always proud of having grown up in Adair County. Look around at many of my classmates from the Adair County High School Class of 1994. We are successful leaders all over the country and the planet.

That is due to the great educations we received from people we knew. Our teachers knew our parents, shopped at the same stores, went to the same churches. Our schools were truly community-owned and operated.

I attended Sparksville Grade Center from 1981-1990. I was taught by neighbors. I had excellent teachers that cared about me. Even the school secretary was a long-time family friend. That mattered.

National Deaf Youth Day is March 6

By Kim Saylor Brannock

Frankfort, KY - The Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH) urges everyone to recognize and celebrate March 6 as National Youth Deaf Day and March 13 - April 15 as National Deaf History Month. KCDHH uses this time to celebrate, raise awareness of hearing loss and urge everyone to protect his or her ears.

National Deaf Youth Day was developed to recognize and bring together deaf and hard of hearing youth from schools for the deaf, mainstream programs and universities.

"One in five teens experience some type of hearing loss," said KCDHH Executive Director Virginia Moore, "and 80% of kids between the ages of 6 and 19 have hearing loss as a result of listening to loud music, particularly through earbuds at unsafe volumes."
