I have heard that, in some other county, people have been criticizing road teams. I just want to shower them all with praise!

Hard work, long hours (someone ought to publish those), all the weather, etc., etc.! Thanks so much to all of them!

Commentary: Praise for Adair Co. Attorney Hutchison-Corbin

By Bill Patrick
Retired Executive Director of the Kentucky County Attorneys Association

Recently I retired as Executive Director of the Kentucky County Attorneys Association. A position that I was privileged to hold for more than a decade. Prior to assuming that position, I had twice been elected Powell County Judge Executive and also served as the Executive Director of the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy.

During my time in all these posts, I worked with many dedicated men and women serving their communities. I have also witnessed a few who were not well suited for the public trust they possessed. Working with County Attorneys this past decade, I have first-hand, up-close, professional experience with their unique and enormous responsibilities.

I felt compelled to send this letter to voice my thoughts on Jennifer Hutchison-Corbin. Adair County is fortunate to have a woman of her stature serving as County Attorney. Over the years, Jennifer has demonstrated her concern for public safety and has served as an example of what it means to be a firm, fair and even-handed prosecutor. This has earned Jennifer the well-deserved respect of her colleagues across Kentucky.

LCDHD COVID-19 Public Information Brief 2/18/2021

By Amy Tomlinson
Lake Cumberland District Health Department

Cases continue to drop, however, a considerable portion of this could very well be weather related (people are not able to get out to get tested). As next week's numbers unfold, we will know for sure. We now have 2 counties in the "orange-accelerated" range of community-spread: Casey, and Cumberland. The remaining 8 counties remain in the "red-critical" range of community-spread.

While we do not have all the details, the Governor announced 4 new COVID-19 vaccination sites in our district that may open as early as next week. There are 2 new regional hubs, The Medical Center at Albany, and Taylor Regional Hospital. There are also 2 more pharmacy sites, Kroger and Wal-mart in Pulaski.

Statewide Testing Positivity Rate: 7.07%.
