Kentucky Color - Black Gold in the parking lot at Walmart

Last week I spied a load of Black Gold proudly parked in the Walmart parking lot. No, this is not Jed Clampett’s, “bubbling crude” variety of Black Gold but the Paul Bunyan variety, so to speak.

Black Walnut is, year after year, the most valuable and prized wood in our North American Forest.

Letters: Patrons can come and go, vendors cannot

Mary Knight writes:
I never knew that the City Hall restrooms were open for patrons of the Farmers' Market.

But in this case, I guess I would favor throwing us patrons under the bus, and just giving a key to one of the vendors. Patrons can be on our own -- we can come and go as we please.

Morgan Smith Industries featured at April Chamber lunch

Morgan Smith Industries, architectural millwork and custom fabrication manufacturer located in the former OshKosh building in Columbia's south industrial park, presented their company to the Columbia Adair County Chamber of Commerce April meeting.

They showcased their past projects, made in Adair County, including 22 courthouses across Kentucky, custom fabrications and millwork in Universities, Schools, Health Care Facilities and more.

April 23rd School Board meeting agenda

The meeting will be held at the Adair County Board of Education Conference Room, 1204 Greensburg St, Columbia, KY. This meeting is considered a Special Regular School Board Meeting due to the change in date. The public is invited to attend.

Thomas Sapp, Jr., 76, Campbellsville, KY (1942-2019)

He was the owner of Sapp's Antiques in Campbellsville for over 40 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and was a former truck driver and enjoyed traveling going to antique auctions near and far, buying and selling.

Thomas Sapp, Jr. of Campbellsville passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019 in Campbellsville at his home. He was 76 years old.

The funeral service for Thomas Sapp, Jr will be Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 11amET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd., Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Jay Damron officiating. Burial will follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery with full Military Honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

The family requests visitation from 5pmET until 8pmET on Tuesday at the funeral home.

LWC Men's Tennis beats Campbellsville in MSC Semifinals

Owensboro, KY - Second-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's tennis won the last four matches to beat upset-minded and third-seeded Campbellsville University 5-3 in the Mid-South Conference Tournament semifinals tonight at the Owensboro Tennis Complex.

Lindsey Wilson and Cumberlands are scheduled to meet at 2pmCT on Saturday, April 27, at Kereiakes Park, 1220 Fairview Ave, Bowling Green, KY.
