Letter: Some County Tax Bills Were Lost in the Mail

Maury Lewis writes:
The property tax notices had to go to Lexington or Louisville this year and some of the L's got misplaced along the way so if people haven't received theirs yet they need to check with the Sheriff's office to see if theirs were in the misplaced bunch. Ours was.

Anyone who hasn't received theirs can go to the Sheriff's office and they will print out a notice for them and they can pay it. --Maury

Hunter Durham shared the news item from the past entitled "An Accident."
"One afternoon, last week, while Mr. F.H. Durham and his little son Alden, and Mr. Durham's mother, Mrs. M.E. Durham, we're en route to Greensburg, to be present at the marriage of Mrs. Durham's granddaughter, they met with an accident while crossing Skinhouse Branch, 8 miles from Colombia. Open Enrollment at healthcare.gov Begins Nov. 1

According to insurance.ky.gov, Anthem remains the only issuer for Adair, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, and Russell Counties, while Caresource remains the only issuer for Taylor and Green Counties.

By Doug Hogan/Beth Fisher

Frankfort, KY - - Open Enrollment for 2019 Marketplace health insurance plans at healthcare.gov starts Thursday. The Kentucky Health Benefit Exchange (KHBE), within the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) is working to ensure Kentuckians are prepared, informed and have the resources they need to choose a 2019 health plan.

This year's open enrollment runs from Nov. 1 until Dec. 15 for coverage beginning January 1, 2019. Many Kentuckians who do not want to make changes to their plans will be automatically re-enrolled, but everyone is encouraged to check the status of their enrollment and selected coverage options. In many cases, policyholders will have the same plan for 2019 or their coverage will move from their current plan to an available 2019 option that most closely matches their current coverage.

By Lee McClellan, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife

Frankfort, KY - There will be a temporary delay in trout stockings for the next few weeks at Fishing in Neighborhoods (FINs) lakes, streams and the Cumberland River due to poor conditions at Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery near Jamestown.

The delay is due to the combination of a fish kill at the hatchery last year and reduced growth rates created during the construction of a new aeration system.

"The priority is to get caught back up," said Jeff Ross, assistant director of Fisheries for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.

An artist at work: Campbellsville mural takes shape

By Tiffany Kessler

An unexpected trip to Campbellsville today allowed me to see the birth of a true piece of art. It was mesmerizing to watch

The talented Diego Cardenas, a Campbellsville University graduate and graffiti artist from Venezuela, uses incredible motion and vivid color to transform a boring blank wall on campus into pure artwork. Cardenas says the piece should be finished by the end of the week.

FYI: It was very easy to spot which vehicle belonged to Diego Cardenas in the parking lot.
