Phillip Coomer, 83, Burkesville, KY (1935-2018)

June 4, 1935 ~ August 5, 2018 (Age 83)
He was a retired employee of Ross Gear and Tool Co. in Lafayette, IN after 35 years of service. He was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death in Warren County, KY. He was a member of a respected Cumberland County, KY family. He was the son of the late Andy Thomas Coomer & Emma Lucy (Nixon) Coomer. He leaves seven direct living descendants. His final resting place will be in W Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, IN.

Shirley Fancher (Ferguson) Erwin, Metcalfe Co., KY (1937-2018)

November 22, 1937 ~ August 7, 2018 (Age 80)
She was a homemaker, retired from Metcalfe Health Care and of the Baptist Faith. She was the daughter of the late Sanford Ferguson & Katie Cawthorn Ferguson, and the widow of Maxie Fancher and Micky Erwin. She was the matriarch of a large, respected Metcalfe County family. Her direct descendants number a total of 20 children and grandchildren, plus several great grandchildren.

He loved his family first; loved working with cars, engines and woodworking. He retired from the US Airforce and the US Postal Service. He was united in marriage February 2, 1995 to Patricia Dilley Pascoe.

He was the son of the late Daniel Webster Higginbotham & Addie (Neathery) Higginbotham. His wife Blanche (Bilbrey) Higginbotham, survives. He was a member of the Williams Chapel Church, a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army, and a retired factory worker with Cissell Manufacturing Co. in Louisville, KY.

Columbia, KY's population grows 25% with LWC Move-In - August 18-19, 2018

COLUMBIA, KY - Columbia's population will increase by almost 25% during weekend of August 18-19, as more than 1,100 students are expected to move into the Lindsey Wilson College residence halls for the 2018-19 school year.

LWC's opening weekend is August 18-19, 2018 and fall classes will begin the week of August 20 on the A.P. White Campus.

Columbia man allegedly attempts to bite arresting officers

Incident at TJ/C Hospital. Facility's security requested assistance to remove man, later charged with public intoxication, who refused to leave facility's parking lot. Ofc. Jordan Dean, with assistance of Ofc. Jamie Cole, and Constable Jason Rector, TJ Security, and Sheriff's Deputies make arrest. Subject now faces numerous charges.
