Rev. Lewis Haynes, 85, Adair County, KY (1933-2018)

He was an extraordinary Christian servant, who had the rare ability to spot individual talents in every member of his congregation, quietly encouraging them to use their own unique talents to deliver Christ's message both in his services and wherever there were needs. In so doing, he built a most effective, spiritually fulfilling community congregation - one which had loyal regular members come near and far, from diverse walks of life and means, sitting side-by-side as unselfish peers. He was a teacher after graduating from Campbellsville College, retiring after 47 years from the Adair County School System. As an Ordained Baptist Pastor he served Harrods Fork Baptist Church, Russell Heights Baptist Church and Plum Point Baptist Church in Adair County for a total of 58 years in the ministry.
