She was member of a leading South Central Kentucky family, the daughter of the late Shed and Lottie Penick Haskins, and the widow of Joe Mitchell. She leaves sons and daughters in Adair, Green, and Taylor Counties of Kentucky, and in Illinois. Her direct- and step- living descendants number 53. Her final resting place will be in the Mitchell Cemetery in Green County, KY.
