She was a cook for the Russell County School system and a member of Main Street Church of God. She was member of a respected family with strong ties in Adair and Russell Counties. She was the daughter of the late Bascom & Nellie Bailey Williams and the widow of Getha West. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

She was a member of Burkesville First Christian Church and a homemaker. She was a member of an outstanding Cumberland County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late Judge J.W. Wells and Bonnie Grider Wells, and the widow of Martin Wells. She leaves five direct and 11 step living descendants.

District 8 crews ready for snow and ice season

Maintenance crews in KYTC District 8 have a responsibility for clearing over 2,000 miles of state-maintained highways in the counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Lincoln, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Russell and Wayne. That equates to 5,192 "lane miles" - all driving lanes from rural state roads to interstate highways.

FRANKFORT, KY - (7 Dec 2017) - Kentucky State Treasurer Allison Ball's local connections helped her return contents of a safe deposit box with an unknown owner to a Prestonsburg family.

"I always enjoy returning unclaimed property to its rightful owner," Treasurer Ball said. "This situation was particularly special as I had the opportunity to work with a family I have known all my life."

Mr. Leroy Mark Yokley, Metcalfe County, KY (1931-2017)

Leroy was born on October 18, 1931 in Smiths Grove, Kentucky to Finley Mark Yokley and Verdia Norman Yokley. After his mother's death, infant Leroy became the foster son of his grandparents, James and Lillian Norman, of Glasgow. Leroy graduated from Glasgow High School and afterwards served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He later attended Tennessee Tech and David Lipscomb College on basketball scholarships. In Glasgow, he met and married Mary Alice Bell in 1957. Over the next several years, the couple welcomed three sons into their home, and in due time, the family was blessed with the addition of their wives and children. After moving back to Glasgow, Leroy began working for Nunn Auto Supply. In the early 70s he opened his own automotive supply store, Yokley Auto Parts. He loved sports and the competition of playing basketball and tennis into his 40s. His family remembers many one-on-one basketball games behind the house, spirited croquet matches, and softball games in the front yard. He had a great sense of humor was always ready to gently tease his daughters-in-law and grandchildren. He was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Christ, at both the Bellview and Pleasant Hill congregations.

Mr. Leroy Mark Yokley died peacefully at his home on December 8, 2017 in Huntsville, Alabama at the age of 86.

A funeral is scheduled for 11amCT, December 11, 2017 at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, followed by a brief graveside service at the Bellview Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 10, 2017, from 4pm until 7pmCT, and on Monday from 9amCT until time of service. Jason Peden and Gary Richardson will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Leroy's life.

J.B. Grider, 76, Cumberland Co., KY (1941-2017)

He was a member of a highly regarded Cumberland County family. He was a member of Amandaville Christian Church and a farmer. He was the son of the late Homer & Ettie Davidson Grider, one of 12 siblings born to them, eight of whom survive, residing in Cumberland and Adair Counties, KY.

Martha Suter Wyatt, Casey County, KY/Henry County, KY native (1946-2017)

She was a former Camp Manager with Camp Wa-Kon-Da-Ho and a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She was a native of New Castle, KY, and a resident of Liberty, KY, at the time of her death. She was the matriarch of a respected Casey County, KY, family. She was the daughter of the late Everett Benson Suter & Ida Christine Ford Suter. Her husband, Claud Finley Wyatt, survives. She leaves 37 direct living descendants.
