Writer wonders why Lyme disease in Adair underreported

"Em" writes
Read the article in Columbia Magazine about Lyme and co-infections. I'm wondering why all these people telling me they are reporting Lyme positive, why it's not being recorded with the CDC! Reason I'm so sensitive, - I'm the only one reported CDC positive in 15 years in Adair County! Not doubting, just wondering why if people are Western Blot positive, it's, not being reported? Bailey receives rare diagnosis: tick-bite-induced Alpha-Gal

Bailey Shepperd’s world has forever changed. With unexplained recurring illness, her doctors, at a loss, finally test for a long shot. Positive results came back for rare allergy, its growing danger first shared in Adair County by Terry Partin at the 2016 Outdoor Expo, the Alpha-Gal Syndrome, MMA. Her mother shares the story of Bailey's journey.

By April Yurcevic Shepperd

For the past couple of months, Bailey has suffered some serious stomach and digestive issues, including stomach pain, bloating, indigestion, diarrhea, and vomiting. Along with this, she has recurring bad headaches. The symptoms would come and go, so it was hard to pinpoint the problem. We tried eliminating certain foods, dairy, and gluten, but nothing held the key to her issues. Thinking it might be iron overload, we also stopped her daily multi-vitamin. We even suspected the poor girl had parasites or a fungal infection.

Living Squarecrow as music critic outraged

Charles Marshburn writes:
Cornet. Tonya Parker is playing a cornet! We cornet players noticed that in a heartbeat! The cornet is not smaller, but shorter than a trumpet. The length of the tubing is basically identical. No shepherd's crook on a trumpet.Charles Marshburn
Lordy. No matter how long you live, you learn something! We had always thought that a Cor-oh-net was a a Readers' Digest wannabe. And now we learn it's a shorter trumpetoid instrument, played by mellower band members. Thanks for the cultural enlightenment, however. We'll make the change. - EW
