Letter: Kathy Hunt applauds TR House work and luncheon

Kathy Hunt writes:
Wanted to express how much I enjoyed the wonderful salad luncheon sponsored by the Heritage Association at the Trabue House today. The food was delicious and so much was locally grown. Many thanks to everyone for preparing the food. The house and grounds look wonderful. This property is such a wonderful asset to the city of Columbia. Really appreciate all the hard work of the garden club and others to make this a very special place. Hope more and more people will be able to enjoy this treasure.
Thank you all so much again. --Kathy Hunt

Guy Babin: Traveling north, hemlock is encroaching on pastures

Guy Babin writes:
Poison hemlock is here and getting worse every year. Traveling north it's even worse encroaching pastures beyond the roadsides.

I'm told there's state funds for public right of ways along state roads for spraying, but nothing allocated to support control along county roadways. This thing can, and likely will get worse without a concerted attack. --Guy Babin
