Kindergarten: Age cutoff now two months earlier By Wes Feese Media Relations, Adair County Schools Eligibility requirements for students entering kindergarten will be different for the 2017-18 school year, allowing students to enter at a slightly older age, per a new change in state regulations. According to the state Dept. of Education: "Beginning with the 2017-18 school year, the entry date changes from Oct. 1 to Aug. 1. A child who is 6 years old or who turns 6 by Aug. 1, must attend public school. A child who is 5 years old or who will turn 5 by Aug. 1 will be able to enroll in primary school." Bobby was a member of the National Guard and a former Rotary Club member. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and running in his younger years. Richard L. Blaul, 77, Taylor County, KY (1939-2016) Mr. Blaul, a native of Chicago, IL, and a resident of Campbellsville, KY, at the time of his death, was a retired construction worker, doing plumbing and electrical work after having served his country faithfully for 10 years in the Navy. In his spare time he enjoyed working in his yard as well as building furniture, collected die cast cars and was a NASCAR enthusiast. His wife, Agnes Darleen Mattingly Blaul, survives.
